What drives our work
Green Hands Development was founded on a straightforward conviction: communities in Sudan have the knowledge, energy, and will to shape their own futures — they need organizations that listen carefully and work alongside them, not above them.
Our team brings together researchers, educators, media producers, and community organizers, most of whom have spent their careers working in Sudanese contexts. We don't subcontract our values. Every survey we conduct, every training we facilitate, every campaign we produce is built on direct relationships with the communities we work with.
We report honestly on what works and what doesn't. We publish our findings. We share our methodologies. If you're a donor or partner organization, that's what you can hold us to.
Our Mission
We work across four areas: research and field surveys, training and capacity building, strategic communications, and civic participation programs.
In practice, this means we've mapped disability and women's empowerment resources in Red Sea State with the Italian Cooperation Agency, analyzed cross-border trade challenges with Emani, and surveyed household energy patterns across Sudan with the World Bank. It means we've run democracy education workshops, trained investigative journalists, and produced media campaigns that reached communities the national conversation tends to ignore.
Sudan is going through a difficult transition. Civil society has a specific and irreplaceable role in that process. This is why we exist.

At Green Hands Development, our research and evaluation work is built around one principle: accurate information changes outcomes. We conduct field surveys, design data collection tools, and produce analysis that NGOs and national agencies can act on. We use Kobo Toolbox and Survey CTO, we hire locally, and we document our methods so our findings can be verified.
